What method of parenting makes your home run the best?
i.e., do you run a very strict household, lenient, chaotic, military, religious, etc……..i want to hear what works and doesnt work for other people.
i.e., do you run a very strict household, lenient, chaotic, military, religious, etc……..i want to hear what works and doesnt work for other people.
What kind of parenting style do you use with your children?
Example:
Are you stern, liberal, the tough love type etc..
I use babycenter- but I am looking for some suggestions of other parenting sites. Do you participate in message boards? I’m pregnant with number 2 and due in April of 2009. Just looking to meet some other mommies online :) Thanks for your help!
Myself: My mom is completely against me breastfeeding. She thinks formula will keep the baby happier for longer. She was shocked that I told her my daughter will never have formula. She said that breasts are for our husbands and we don’t have to use them to feed our babies because we don’t live in a third world country.
I noticed some people putting down on pre-teen,teens who answer parenting questions.
I actually like seeing their opinions on the situations, since they are either at that age, or were close to it not to long ago. They might be able to fill in the other side of the story.
What do you think? Do you think only other parents should answer?
I’m doing a research paper on discipline so I just want to see if anybody has some honest answers for me that I might be able to use for my paper. And also were you emotionally, verbally, sexually, or physically abused as a child?
What do you do when your spouse doesn’t parent the same way you do?
This is a survey for my sociology class. When you answer please state your age too.
Are they better or worse now?
Do you think, on average, that you work really hard (125%), hard (90%), average (65%) or not very hard (35%) at daily parenting? (This includes helping w/homework, talking, affection, after school or out-of-the-house activities, etc.)
He’s an only child who feels connected to his dad. Though his parents are quite stiff. His mom doesn’t really talk very much and his dad talks a bit. Both parents lack self-esteem and confidence, but seem to be authoritarian. The child isn’t given any chores to do, but is expected to do exceptionally well on school work. The child is hardly ever complemented on the work he does, and is instead pointed out on the flaws of his work. His family is Catholic.
