How open is the curriculum? Who monitors what the parent/parents teache and how often are the parents monitored? What paperwork do the parents have to keep? How many hours should the parents expect to spend each day towards homeschooling? I’m currently in a Graduate elementary ed. class, and I’m reading a book where a child is being homeschooled. I am curious as to the process the parents and child have to go through.
I know 1 family in my church who home schools their children,but,I don’t know why they do it.
What is its main purpose? If I can get answers from parents who home school their children,good!
I have a 14 year old autistic son who is having major problems in school with children picking on him so I have decided to home school him. I need to know where to get the info for home schooling in Wisconsin. I need this ASAP. My son had a major melt down at school yesterday and he had to be taken away by the police for the safety of the other children. This is very serious! I don’t want to see anyone get hurt or him put into an institution. Please send any info you have.

Please understand this is not a question about judging parents who choose to do this for whatever reason. I’m just curious. I am considering having my children home schooled however, when they grow up, what do the parents do? It appears to be 24/7 you and your children, but at some point they go to college or go out on their own. What then? How are the relationships with their spouses?
Any of you who may have bought microscopes for your homeschool kids, what was the price range you paid, features you looked for and what did you use it for? I was a veterinary pathologist so when I look at one I am looking for way more than my kids need. Thanks for the advice. Oh, any good sites to shop?
I was wondering do I have to have some kind of training or certificate to do home school for my children? Would that be a good idea? The reason is because this society is so bad that I don’t even want my kids around other kids because they might teach my kids bad things. So is it a good thing. People with experience only please.
They are locked away from the rest of the world just as if they were in prison. They are put with only kids in their own age group and not allowed to talk to them unless the supreme being (teacher) gives them permission. How sad these poor kids don’t learn how things are in the real world.
Uncalled, what makes you think home school kids are stuck at home and only socialize with their family? As far as my screen name I am very proud to be my husband’s wife and my kid’s mom. If more women would see the value and importance in raising their family instead of being told we should be little femenazis the world would be a much better place. Being a wife and mother IS who I am.
